Raw message
E05
Likely causes
- The G3010 does not recognize a printhead.
- The support code distinguishes possible damage, installation trouble or an incompatible head.
Match E05 to the computer's support code
The G3010 LCD cycles through the characters. Canon maps E05 to 1403, 1430, 1471 or 1476. Our recommendation is to read the computer's support code before handling the heads. This mapping is specific to the G3010 series.
Use the remedy for that support code
For G3010 code 1403, Canon says a head may be damaged: power off and on, then request service if it persists. Codes 1471 and 1476 require an appropriate compatible head. Code 1430 includes incorrect installation or an unsupported head.
For 1430, keep the ink-tank precautions
Canon's illustrated 1430 procedure opens both ink-tank covers before head removal to avoid an ink-consuming flush. Keep C on the left and B on the right, secure the locking cover and press both joint buttons. Follow the complete linked sequence and avoid touching terminals, nozzles or tubes.
