Raw message
Minecraft Launcher license is currently not available for your account (0X803F8001)
Likely causes
- The Windows Launcher reports that its license is unavailable for the signed-in account.
- Different Microsoft accounts are signed into the Launcher, Store and Xbox app.
- The Launcher installation or Microsoft Store needs the additional remedies in Minecraft's license-error article.
Check the account in each app
This reference covers the license message from the Minecraft Launcher on Windows. Minecraft's dedicated article requires the same Microsoft account in three places: the Launcher, Microsoft Store and Xbox app. Our recommendation is to compare all three before changing the installation.
In the Launcher, open the account menu at the top left, choose View all accounts, then select the correct account or Switch account. In the Store, use the account icon at the top right to sign out and sign in with your Minecraft account. In the Xbox app, open the account menu at the top left and do the same.
Retry after the accounts match. Our recommendation is to record which app had a different account so you can describe the result if further help is needed.
Use the Store installation route
If the account check does not apply or does not resolve the error, Minecraft directs you to install the Launcher directly from the Microsoft Store. Sign in with the Microsoft account you use to play Minecraft.
Reset the Store if the same message remains
Minecraft's last listed remedy is the Store reset command: press Windows + R, enter WSReset and press Enter. Our recommendation is to retry the same Launcher action afterward. If the Launcher instead fails to install, open or start a game without this license message, use the related launch guide to locate that failure.
