63 guides
Discord screen share no audio
Compare two viewers to separate stream capture from playback. Check stream mute and volume, then the broadcaster's client, OS and selected application.
Discord mic not working
Fix a Discord mic nobody can hear: the built-in Mic Test plays your voice back, so it says at once whether Discord is receiving audio. Covers input device selection, OS permissions, sensitivity gating and server-side mutes.
Minecraft multiplayer not working
Fix Minecraft multiplayer that won’t connect: child accounts have it blocked by default, and the switch lives in Xbox privacy settings — which apply even if you never play on an Xbox. Covers cross-play, friends, editions and servers.
Roblox not launching
Fix Roblox that won’t start or hangs on the loading screen: launching a second way splits a browser fault from a deeper one. Covers ad-blockers, corrupted cache, and the UDP port range Roblox needs open.
Discord no sound
Fix Discord audio you cannot hear: everyone silent is deafen or the output device, one person silent is their per-user volume slider. Covers Windows exclusive mode and resetting voice settings.
Roblox voice chat not working
Fix Roblox voice chat: age verification, region and whether the developer added voice all gate it before any fault is possible. Roblox no longer accepts phone verification for voice access.
401 Unauthorized
A 401 response means authentication is missing or invalid. Check the sign-in challenge, browser session or API token before changing permissions.
403 Forbidden
A 403 response means the server refuses the request. Separate account permissions from a server or security rule before trying the same login again.
404 Not Found
A 404 means the requested resource was not found or its existence is hidden. Check the URL, then restore missing content or redirect a moved page.
429 Too Many Requests
A 429 means a request-rate limit was reached. Respect Retry-After, reduce repeated requests and check which account, client or resource shares the limit.
503 Service Unavailable
A 503 signals temporary service unavailability. Visitors should check status and wait; owners should inspect maintenance, capacity and the serving infrastructure.
400 Bad Request
A 400 means the server considers the request invalid. Read the error detail, then check the URL, body and headers before sending the same request again.
405 Method Not Allowed
A 405 means the resource does not support the request method. Check the Allow header and distinguish the application request from a browser's OPTIONS preflight.
413 Content Too Large
A 413 means the request body exceeds an accepted limit. Try a smaller upload, then check the CDN, web server and application limits if you operate the site.
415 Unsupported Media Type
A 415 means the server rejects the request's content format. Check Content-Type, actual body encoding and multipart boundaries instead of only renaming the file.
422 Unprocessable Content
A 422 means the server understands the content format but cannot process the instructions. Read field errors and correct values, types or missing data.
408 Request Timeout
A 408 means the server stopped waiting for a complete request. Separate stalled uploads and idle connections from an upstream response timeout.
409 Conflict
A 409 means the operation conflicts with the resource's current state. Preserve your changes, read the conflict detail and reconcile the state before trying again.
500 Internal Server Error
A 500 reports an unexpected server condition. Visitors can capture the failing action; owners need the matching logs and recent changes to locate the cause.
502 Bad Gateway
A 502 means a gateway could not obtain a valid upstream response. Check which gateway failed and inspect its connection and response evidence.
504 Gateway Timeout
A 504 means a gateway waited too long for an upstream response. Separate connection failures from slow processing before changing timeout limits.
Cloudflare 1015
Error 1015 means the site has temporarily blocked you for making too many requests. Cloudflare's advice to visitors is to wait rather than retry, because repeated attempts can extend the block.
Cloudflare 1020
Error 1020 means a Cloudflare firewall rule on that site blocked you. A visitor cannot fix it, but the Ray ID on the error page is what lets the site owner find the exact block in seconds.
Cloudflare 521
Error 521 means the website's own server actively refused Cloudflare's connection. Cloudflare is working; the server behind it is down or is blocking Cloudflare. A visitor cannot fix this one.
Cloudflare 522
Error 522 means Cloudflare could not get a connection to the origin server at all. Cloudflare publishes the exact timeouts: 19 seconds for a SYN+ACK, or 90 seconds for an acknowledgment afterwards.
Cloudflare 524
Error 524 means Cloudflare reached the origin server successfully, but got no HTTP response within the default 125-second read timeout. Something at the origin is taking too long rather than failing.
Cloudflare 520
Error 520 is Cloudflare’s catch-all: the origin server returned an empty, unknown or unexpected response. Unlike 521 and 522 the connection worked — what came back could not be interpreted as valid HTTP.
Cloudflare 525
Error 525 means the SSL handshake between Cloudflare and the origin server failed, and it only happens under Full or Full (Strict) SSL mode. The certificate, the port, SNI support or the cipher suites are the usual culprits.
Cloudflare 526
Error 526 means Cloudflare reached the origin and refused to trust its certificate. It only happens under Full (Strict), which is the mode that actually checks — and that is what separates it from the handshake failure of 525.
Cloudflare 523
Error 523 means Cloudflare cannot reach the origin. Check the configured origin IP and network route, especially after a hosting or routing change.
Too many redirects
Chrome reports too many redirects when a page keeps sending you elsewhere. Try deleting that site's cookies; a persistent loop may need the website owner to repair its redirects.
Chrome certificate date error
Chrome sees a certificate outside its valid dates according to the device's clock. Correct an inaccurate clock first; a persistent warning on one website needs the site's owner to investigate.
Chrome certificate name error
Chromium defines this error as a certificate name that does not match the requested hostname. Check the full address and any Wi-Fi sign-in portal; website owners must verify certificate coverage for that hostname.
Teams error 0xCAA70004
0xCAA70004 is one of a family of Teams sign-in errors that all come from the same authentication stack. Microsoft's tell is whether the problem also appears in other Office applications — if it does, it is not a Teams problem at all.
Zoom error 10004
Zoom documents 10004 as a macOS auto-update failure. Check whether IT manages the app, then use the official uninstall, restart and reinstall sequence.
Zoom error 1132
Zoom's documented 1132 route is to update, reproduce the sign-in error, select Report to Zoom and confirm the report by email. The code alone does not explain the cause.
Zoom error 5003
Zoom defines 5003 as a failure to connect to its servers. Check the network's firewall or proxy with its administrator and use the standard app reinstall route.
Zoom error 1003
Zoom's 1003 sign-in or meeting-join message identifies a disabled account. If you believe the decision is mistaken, use its Trust and Safety appeal route.
Zoom installation error 3000
Zoom's installation table says a running process prevented an existing file from being overwritten. Its remedy is to uninstall Zoom and install the current version.
Zoom installation error 13003
Zoom identifies 13003 as an installation-permission problem or a driver conflict. Its remedy combines reinstalling Zoom with checking that video and audio drivers are current.
Zoom error 1006028000
Zoom uses this code during app startup or meeting entry. Its documented checks cover a full target drive, quarantined installer files and firewall restrictions, including Palo Alto policy changes.
Discord not opening
A frozen loading screen and a Windows installer failure need different paths. Start with service status and a complete restart; use Discord's local-folder cleanup only for the installation or update branch.
Minecraft controller not working
Minecraft's controller list states that Java Edition has no inherent controller support. Confirm the edition before troubleshooting pairing, then check the controller models documented for your Bedrock platform.
ERR_CACHE_MISS — form resubmission
Chrome says this page needs information previously entered to be submitted again. If the form placed an order or made another change, check the result before approving a repeat submission.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
This error reports a failed TLS handshake. On a Cloudflare site, investigate the certificate and connection protocol; a network-specific failure may instead involve QUIC handling or a TLS-inspection device.
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
Chrome reports that the connection was refused or blocked. Separate one failing address from a general browsing problem; for a local development URL, verify that the server is running at the actual port.
ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED
Chrome identifies this as a device without an internet connection. Check Wi-Fi, Ethernet and airplane mode first; if other apps can connect, follow the Chrome-specific troubleshooting branch.
Roblox error 266
Roblox describes 266 as the client timing out while establishing a server connection, including low bandwidth or speed. Compare a different permitted connection before repeating the shared app-repair steps.
Zoom meeting error 1001
For a participant joining a meeting, Zoom says 1001 means the host has been disabled or restricted. The participant cannot join that meeting; local playback or network repairs do not remove the host's restriction.
ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
Chrome could not resolve the requested hostname. Check the exact address and compare its availability before repairing the browser; a public site's owner can inspect the DNS response for that hostname.
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
Google says something interrupted the page connection, including an unstable network, browser, VPN or security control. Compare where the reset occurs before deciding which part of the connection needs repair.
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
The page took too long to connect. Google also groups ERR_TIMED_OUT here and names a slow connection or a busy destination; compare one failing site with general browsing before changing settings.
ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED
Google says the device disconnected or moved to another network while the page loaded. Reconnect and keep one stable path for the retry; repeated errors without an intentional switch need a broader connection comparison.
Minecraft not launching
Three separate failures share the words not launching: the launcher will not install, the launcher will not open, or it opens and does nothing when you press Play. Mojang documents each one differently because they are different faults.
Minecraft named error codes
Mojang names error codes after animals and blocks, but roughly half of the fifty-odd names mean nothing more specific than a sign-in failure. About a dozen genuinely tell you something, and those are the ones worth looking up.
Roblox error code 277
Roblox publishes separate articles for 277, 279/ID 17 and 268, and the troubleshooting in all three is identical. Only the opening sentence differs, so there is no fix specific to your number.
Roblox error code 267
Error 267 means the creator of that experience banned your account from it. Roblox states the ban is not issued by Roblox, that the rest of the platform still works, and that Roblox Support cannot remove it.
Roblox error 264
Roblox defines 264 as the same account entering the same game on multiple devices at once. Check the other device and active sessions before reinstalling.
Roblox error 403
Roblox's 403 article describes a PC client that fails to initialize after a website launch. It checks the installation, local app data and browser settings.
Roblox error 524
Roblox puts private-server settings and the owner's permissions first for 524. Server availability or a device problem can also prevent joining, so test after each check.
Roblox Studio error 270
Roblox identifies 270 as a potential editing desynchronization and a lost Team Create session in Studio. Reconnect, compare the connection and keep the relevant Studio log if support requests it.
Roblox version error 280
Roblox describes 280 as a problem with the installed version on PC, Mac or mobile. Its reinstall procedure gets a current copy; check system compatibility before repeating the installation.
Minecraft license error
Minecraft documents this Windows Launcher error as an unavailable account license. Check the Microsoft account in the Launcher, Microsoft Store and Xbox app before reinstalling.
