Raw message
You do not have permission to join this game (Error Code: 524)
Likely causes
- Your account's private-server settings restrict membership.
- The owner has not granted access, or a group requirement is unmet.
- The server is unavailable, or a temporary device or network problem prevents joining.
Start with the account's private-server preference
Open Roblox Settings > Privacy and content restrictions > Visibility & private servers > Private servers. Review who may add you as a member. Roblox's code article puts this check first; its private-server FAQ says users under 13 can only join friends' private servers and may restrict access further.
The owner must also allow access
Confirm with the owner that your username is in Server Members or that Friends Allowed applies. For a group-only experience, check the required group membership. An owner can review their server through the experience's Servers section > three-dot menu > Configure; that control belongs to the owner.
If access is correct, check availability and the device
Roblox next checks an app/device restart, a short wait and the experience's status updates, another network, then an app update or reinstall. Retest after each step. Our recommendation is to record which server fails and whether another accessible experience loads; send those results with the complete error if you need support.
