Netflix has separate iPhone and iPad articles for AVF:11800;OS:42800; and AVF:11800;OS:16041;. Match the complete message to the branch below. If Downloads only shows an alert icon, Netflix's Download Failed article says to select it to reveal the error.
OS:42800: replace the affected download
This suffix accompanies a message that the title can no longer be watched offline. Netflix attributes it to device information needing refresh. Open Downloads, select the download-status icon beside the affected title, choose Delete Download and download it again.
Deleting removes that local copy. Our recommendation is to do this while you have internet access and confirm the replacement finishes before relying on offline playback.
OS:16041: check for a system update
Netflix associates this suffix with an Apple operating-system update and also directs affected users to Customer Service. Apple recommends backing up first, then connecting to power and Wi-Fi. Open Settings > General > Software Update and install an available update.
Our recommendation is to retry the same title afterward. If it still fails, give Netflix the full suffix, device model and iOS or iPadOS version; its code article does not name a required version number.
