The short version
- 01Match the complete displayed code before using the M7353-5101 steps.
- 02Update Chrome through Help > About Google Chrome and relaunch if prompted.
- 03Shut down the computer for at least 10 seconds, then test Netflix again.
- 04Turn off enabled Chrome extensions that you control and retry the same title.
- 05Restore extensions individually and retest playback after each change.
- 06Report persistent failures with the code, browser version and extension comparison.
Raw message
M7353-5101
Likely causes
- A browser extension interferes with Netflix playback.
- Chrome needs an update before the playback test.
- The failing browser session needs a full computer shutdown.
An extension test earns this code its own page
Netflix attributes M7353-5101 to a browser extension. Start with its Chrome update and full computer shutdown steps, then isolate the add-on with the comparison below.
Match the whole code, including any extra suffix, before following these steps. Our recommendation is to record the browser and one failing title so every comparison tests the same situation. Switching titles and settings together makes the result harder to interpret.
Find the add-on instead of leaving every extension off
Open chrome://extensions in Chrome, turn off enabled extensions you control, and retry Netflix. Netflix says extensions listed under Chrome Apps do not need to be disabled. If playback returns, restore extensions individually to identify the one that brings the failure back.
Our diagnostic recommendation is to note the result after each change. Keep unrelated extensions enabled once they have passed that comparison. On a managed computer, ask the administrator about extensions whose switches are locked; do not try to circumvent that policy.
If the comparison changes nothing
Check Netflix's current system and browser requirements for the operating system you use. Another supported browser is a useful editorial comparison: it tests a different playback setup, though success there does not identify a particular extension in the original browser.
If M7353-5101 remains with extensions off, give Netflix support the complete code, browser version and tests already tried. If the code changes to M7701-1003, follow the protected-content checks on that page. A new code calls for a new branch.
